Dear Residents, Surrey County Council Election With the General Election this year,
West Ewell Division (Includes West Ewell, Ruxley and part of Court Ward)
Councillor Jan Mason has been elected the Surrey County Council councillor for our division. Jan stood as a Residents Associations of Epsom and Ewell candidate and received 51% of the votes, more than double the votes of Stephen Pontin (Conservative) who came second. Thank you to everyone that helped Jan, especially those who hand delivered her manifesto to over 5,000 properties. The full results for the division can be found here including the turnout which was sadly only 27%.
Other Divisions in Epsom and Ewell
The Residents of Association of Epsom and Ewell contested all five divisions in the Borough. Three of the divisions (West Ewell, Ewell Court, Auriol & Cuddington, and Ewell) elected Residents Association candidates and two divisions (Epsom Town & Downs, and Epsom West) elected Conservative candidates. We offer our commiserations to RA candidates, Barry Nash and Clive Woodbridge, and their supporting teams. The full results for election can be found here.
Across the County
81 seats were contested in the county council elections. The Conservatives gained three seats taking them up to 61 seats with 48% of the vote. In second place the Liberal Deomcrats and Residents’ Associations/Independents both won nine seats. Surrey County Council have provided an interactive map of the results which can be found here.
